The Annual General Meeting of Rossett & Burton Village Hall Management Committee will take place at 7pm on Wednesday 30th August in the back room of the Hall.

Nominations for officers and members of the Committee are invited.

The Charity shall have the following Officers:

• A chair, a Secretary, a Treasurer

A nomination paper can be requested by email from info@rossettvillagehall.com or leave a message 01244 571155.

Nomination papers should be returned to the Hon Secretary by email or post to The Village Hall, Station Road, Rossett, Wrexham LL12 0HE no later than Monday 28th August 2023.

 

Beech Avenue Taproom comes to the village...

A local microbrewery, Beech Avenue, is hosting an event at our village hall on

5.30pm to 11.00pm - Saturday 19th February 2022

Free Entry

Live Music provided by Kip Cannon

Beech Avenue has collaborated with other microbreweries to offer a range of drinks for residents near and far. Their beer is based on the traditional cask ale, all of it cask conditioned before being packaged for sale. Their beer has distinct malty characteristics making it very much like that pint you love down the pub.

Polly’s Brew Company in Mold, offers modern styles of beer with an emphasis on freshness.

Spitting Feathers based in Chester will showcase their range of beers which are all gluten free and vegan friendly.

Rosie’s Cider who are situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty between the Horseshoe Pass and the Vale of Clwyd in Denbighshire, will showcase their range too.

Update on the DDA Compliant Toilet Building Works

Dear Village Hall Users,

You may have noticed that the new DDA compliant toilet is almost complete. The main construction and building has finished, thanks to our contractor, John Livesley. We would like to thank you for your patience as we put the final touches to make it fully usable.

You will be pleased to know that we invited a wheelchair user to test out the space and we have received some very positive feedback (Phew!)

Now it is time for redecoration/painting and the installation of a non-slip floor.

Next Steps: The preparation for the first coat of paint will be applied this weekend and then it will just be a matter of time before the flooring contractor will be able to fit the new floor.

What this means to you: None of this final work should cause any disruption to any events/activities at the hall, because it is currently planned outside of the scheduled hours already booked; however, please take heed of any notices, particularly where there are wet paint signs.

“THE POLAR EXPRESS”

All aboard on Sunday 19th December 2021 starting at 2.00pm. Doors open at 1.30pm

Synopsis: The Polar Express (2004) [G]

When a doubting young boy takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole, he embarks on a journey of discovery that shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe.

£1.50 per child. For 3 children from the same household £4.00 Family Ticket. Each child will receive a party pack that includes a crossword puzzle, word search, colouring pages and more.

There will be a variety of snacks available including:

Popcorn

Water or Pop

Chocolate bars

Hot Chocolate and other hot drinks

Home made cakes

Raffle tickets will be available with a variety of prizes.

All children MUST be accompanied by an adult for the entire event. No charge for accompanying adults (21+).

All funds raised for this event go directly to support the upkeep of the Village Hall. Please show your support so that the Management Committee can keep the Village Hall at the heart of our community.

Building works have commenced!

Dear Village Hall Users,

The Management Commitee are delighted to be able to inform you that we now have commenced the much anticipated conversion of the front store room into a DDA compliant toilet.

The building construction work has now started and we anticipate completion by the beginning of December.

Throughout this time, our contractor, has agreed to keep noise levels to a minimum during booked sessions.

What is means for Hall Users

Please do not attempt to enter or exit via the front doors. However, will have to leave the front door unlocked, just in case of fire/other emergency.

Access to the Hall: Both the front doors and gate will be 'Contractor Access Only', except for in a life threatening emergency. Please use the rear of the building to enter and exit.

Notices and Barriers: Notices will be put up at the gate and on all affected access points and these will direct all Hall Users to enter at the rear of the building. Large barriers will also be in place whenever the Contractor is on site.

Please comply with all notices and the temporary access arrangements. In the case of an emergency, please use the emergency exits located in the Ladies and Gents toilets, or the back door exit.. The COVID One Way system will remain in place upon entry to the building.
